A Social Story is an evidence-based practice consisting of short stories designed to objectively share information about social situations.

They are meant to describe a situation/behavior
A minimum of 50% of all Social Stories developed for a student should praise what they are doing well
They should be used immediately before the student needs to use the targeted skill

meant to change a negative behavior
contain judgement words (should, shouldn’t, must, mustn’t, ought, ought to, bad, naughty, inappropriate, etc.)
